Lute

The lute and theorbo form an important part of André Ferreira’s engagement with historical performance, particularly through the exploration of solo repertoire and continuo practice.

He currently presents the solo programme Musica Humana, featuring music by J. Dowland, A. Piccinini and G. G. Kapsberger. His continuo work has also led to collaborations with ensembles including Concentus Musicus Wien and Bach Consort Wien, across concert and opera productions.

He has performed on these instruments at venues and festivals including the Wiener Musikverein, Theater an der Wien and the Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk.
